The moment of conception

Sometimes it is planned, and sometimes it is by accident. The first few months are hard but then it will get better. It can seem like a lot of hard work for little reward but will add countless joy and meaning to your life.

I’m not talking about children, although that is coming along, but writing about them.

After five years of my old blog ( I have decided to begin anew and forgo all my attempts at politics and missives and focus on the one area of my life that excites me. Being a parent.

This will not be a lone venture, Mrs G (or should that be Mrs D or Momatops?) will be joining me in our first joint partnership. After a few years at across the wide ocean she is going to be bringing her good grammar to this site.

What is this going to be? There is not even (at time of writing) an About Page.

The truth is we don’t know, we only envisioned doing something together. We have many similar interests but we are both keen to write about our lives as parents. Our experiences as mother and father are very different, and we have varying ideas on life and how our children are raised. That is why we thought it would be fun to talk about them.

I’ve previously posted a lot about being a father to two little dinosaurs (again at time of writing) and will cheat a little and reuse some old content, but most of what is coming from my blogging partner in crime will be all killer.

At some point Mrs G/D/M will join in, but the purpose of this blog is also not to be tied in to posting. One of the reasons my old site died was I became to focused on throwing out 300 words a day. It ceased to be be fun so I stopped. Having little time for myself outside of parenting means I have to be strict on what I spend my enjoyment time on.

Instead there will be occasional posts (so might be worth making sure you ‘follow’ for updates) but they will be – hopefully – better ones.

What can you expect to see in the future? Again we’re not sure, but among the ideas being bandied around are:

  • Toy reviews (from the little dinosaurs themselves)
  • TV reviews (Diego! Dora! Paw Patrol! Sarah and Duck!)
  • YouTube video reviews (LBB! Chu Chu TV!)
  • Recipe ideas
  • Guide to Dadding
  • Guide to Mumming
  • Being parents
  • Stories for Kids (and some NSFC versions

So stick around, for you first few readers watch as this site evolves (or is destroyed by a meteor) and welcome to Jurassic Par-enting (see what I did there).

Doo do dooo do do.

Ah, so you worked out the riddle. You just needed to use dwarfish and the doors to Geek Ergo Sum opened. Or perhaps you just used Google. Either way you are here, on my little corner of the Internet.
